Do-it-yourself low-cost racks.

I decided to share my experience in manufacturing simple, cheap shelving in the basement.

In the basement, cans with conservation began to randomly increase, so we decided to urgently make racks.

For us, the first place was not beauty, but practicality and accessibility. Therefore, the main material for the shelves was a pile of unedged boards that had been lying in our yard for six years.

We turned this board into edged and sawed all the blanks.

To give the appearance and preservation of the tree, covered it with acrylic paint. Unlike oil, it allows the tree to breathe.

Shelving racks fastened with anchors to the wall. This gave the shelves dead stability. The racks themselves made from a bar 40 * 40 mm.

Then he fixed the transverse rails to them, with the help of 70 wood screws.

Similarly manufactured and the front of the frame.

And connected them together with the help of shelf elements.

Edged board for shelves has dimensions 600 * 150 mm. with a thickness of 25 mm. I fastened them with two 40 mm screws.

Our basement has a size of 2 * 3 m. And we wanted to use it to the maximum, so we produce racks around the entire available perimeter.

Between the shelves did a gap of 10 mm. for natural air ventilation.

He closed the ends of the shelves with a wooden overlay, and she also created a small side.
